JABFM is pleased to announce our new Associate Editor as of January 1, 2020—Dr. Christy J. W. Ledford.
Dr. Ledford is an extensively published author (more than 100 publications) who will contribute strong research and writing experience to JABFM. Her education and training include a BA in corporate communication, MS in technical communication, PhD in health and strategic communication, and a fellowship in medical journalism with Family Medicine, the journal of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. She has designed and taught scholarly activity and medical writing curricula for family medicine residents for more than 10 years. As a communication scientist and clinical researcher, Dr. Ledford's mixed-methods research investigates the multigenerational experience of diabetes across the life course. She has directed multiple extramural research grants totaling several million dollars, including the Diabetes ROADMAP study. While recently an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and research director of the Military Primary Care Research Network, she is now a Professor of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, where she is Director of HamesNet, the practice-based research network that connects primary care practices throughout Georgia.
