Content Usage and the Most Frequently Read Articles of 2014 =========================================================== * Phillip Lupo, Jr. * Anne Victoria Neale * Marjorie A. Bowman During our 27th year of print and 12th year of electronic publication of the *Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine* (*JABFM*), we are pleased to provide our annual report of articles published in 2014 that were of the greatest interest to our readers. Table 1 shows the 3 most frequently read articles by issue in 2014. Original research proves to be the most-read type of article in the 2014 list. The Three Most Frequently Read Articles in the *Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine* by Issue in 2014 In addition, we provide an update on the usage statistics of our content over the past 8 years. Figure 1 illustrates the number of total access events for *JABFM* content from 2007 to 2014. 2014 was the busiest year for online usage activity in *JABFM*'s history, with an average of 536,659 content usage requests a month, and a total of 6.43 million annually—an average of over 1 million hits per issue! Content activity was up 19% in 2014 compared with content usage requests during 2013 and, when compared with 2007, a 128% increase is noted. Full-text articles were the most accessed during 2014, with an average of 214,010 monthly requests; followed by abstracts, with 190,354 average monthly requests; then PDF articles, with 79,370 average monthly requests. ![Figure 1.](http://www.jabfm.org/https://www.jabfm.org/content/jabfp/28/3/303/F1.medium.gif) [Figure 1.](http://www.jabfm.org/content/28/3/303/F1) Figure 1.
